Sprinter Health Raises 55 Million to Expand At Home Healthcare Services

Prime Highlights:

  • Sprinter Health secured Series B funding worth $55 million to grow in-home healthcare services.
  • The firm will increase operations in other states and patient engagement with better logistics and technology.

Key Facts:

  • Sprinter Health currently operates in 18 U.S. states, from five in 2023.
  • Six-fold revenue growth has been experienced by the company over the last year.

Key Background:

Sprinter Health was established in the COVID-19 pandemic by Max Cohen and Cameron Behar to target the telehealth gaps. Telecare thrived in the pandemic, but there are still a large number of patients that need to receive face-to-face preventive healthcare services that cannot be effectively provided remotely. Sprinter Health created a model to bring health screenings and services to the patients’ doorsteps directly, such as blood work, diabetes eye exams, and colorectal cancer screening. The model assists in re-engaging patients who otherwise become behind on routine healthcare checks.

Since its start, the company has grown at a speedy pace. Operating in just five states in 2023, Sprinter Health now operates in 18 states in the U.S. and has more than doubled its revenue six times within the past year alone. This expansion drew a $55 million Series B round led by General Catalyst, with participation from top investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures, Accel, and Regents of the University of California, to a total of $125 million.

One of the main reasons for Sprinter Health’s success is that it has a cutting-edge technology-driven logistics system. It pre-sets its clinical staff, including certified medical assistant phlebotomists and community health workers, schedules and routes so that they can visit up to 12 patients a day. By reducing travel time and optimizing patient contact, Sprinter Health maximizes in-home healthcare’s efficiency and outreach.

The firm provides its services free of charge to participants of aligned health insurance programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. By leveraging technology and customized in-home care, Sprinter Health is revolutionizing the interaction between preventive healthcare and patients and making the healthcare system more accessible.
