No more need to log in again on each Apple device.

iOS 19 will probably be announced at WWDC 2025 in June.

Key Background :

Apple to make major announcement of its connectivity features with the new iOS 19 update. One of the most eagerly awaited is a better way of connecting to public Wi-Fi networks. Under iOS 19, an individual can connect to a public Wi-Fi network on one Apple device and have all the other devices that share the same Apple ID—such as their iPad or Mac—granted access. This is a fresh role with the aim of providing user convenience, that is, to users of public Wi-Fi on hotel, airport, or cafe premises.

This is part of Apple’s relentless push to make digital day-to-day use convenient without sacrilege against its reputation for strong privacy and security features. The user will need to sign in once on a network that typically requires sign-in through a captive portal. Once the process is complete, the login credentials will be securely synced across their Apple ecosystem. This means that the user does not need to keep repeating the same thing on every device.

Aside from the Wi-Fi boost, iOS 19 also allegedly includes a new user interface based on Apple’s visionOS—its operating system for the Vision Pro headset. Some of these include new icons, interactive menu animations, and responsiveness to the way one holds the device. All these are part of Apple’s greater effort to make the iOS experience more immersive and intuitive.

iOS 19 update is also set to be officially released at Apple’s WWDC event in June 2025. Given that other updates and features are likely to be displayed at the event, public Wi-Fi sharing is already being referred to as an easy update for those that use more than one Apple device for work. The update will also extend the Apple tradition of increasing ecosystem integration but also with continuity as well as simplicity in mind.
